David Snoxell
In a long and varied career in the Diplomatic Service, David’s postings included Pakistan, New York, Geneva and Senegal, and his responsibilities have ranged from human rights and humanitarian affairs to Southern Africa. Always a keen swimmer, David’s interest in coral reefs and marine conservation was really engaged during his final posting, that of British High Commissioner to Mauritius between 2000 and 2004. He is particularly interested in the Chagos Islands, having served as Deputy Commissioner for the British Indian Ocean Territory, and is an active member of the Chagos Conservation Trust. David is also a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Chairman of the London Branch of the Bristol University Convocation.
